Just a reminder for everyone to check your coolant, if you hadn't done it already.. My 95 continues to let me know it's got a 108k on the odom. I'd been getting an intermittent code 43, knock sensor. Last time I was home I put in an LT4 knock module and thought I'd seen the last of it. However , it started getting worse this time in and on going thru the chart in the FSM I found one of the sensors not showing any resistance on my DVM. Viola, thought it was bad but I just changed them both last year , and thoroughly flushed the coolant, or so I thought. When I pulled this one today, the coolant came out the color of rust.. Oops. Cleaned off the end of the sensor and there it was, proper resistance.. So I think this time I fixed the problem. This is just a reminder that if you've got one that you don't know much about it's history, Like mine. It may need alot more frequent attention.. Then again it's a C4 and like i said she's showing 108k on the milage, I think if I continue to replace parts every month, I'll still never get her quite the way I want , but , shes still my dream car every time I take a drive , or spend a day under looking for troubles.. Sorry so long , just happy I finally found the reason for that code.
Good post. You should also inspect the outer wiring and connnectors on the sensors for caked-on grease, grime, oil, etc., as that can cause them to throw false codes, too.

Never heard of that before but it makes perfect sense. That's what makes this place great, someone always finding a new cause and/or cure for a common problem.
