My 88 has developed a stumble when accelerating at any speed. Anyone have an idea what can cause this?

Check the condition of your plug and coil wires. Are they O.E.M? More than 60,000 miles? You might just have a bad case of the electrical creepycrawlies....

Default low fuel pressure

Check fuel pressure, you might have a dirty sock (in tank filter), clogged fuel filter or clogged injectors. Also fuel pump could be on its last legs. Pour fuel injector cleaner in the tank before fill up and see if that improves acceleration.

Check your MAF sensors..I had two on my 87..behind the battery..They are not expensive and solved the same problem you described ..
Stay safe
