Anyone changed their coolant temp sensor?
I need to change out a defective coolant temp sensor. I know the Opti is right under there and can't get wet- so I"ll cover it with plenty of protection - my question is, do I need to drain out most of my coolant, or can I get by with a quick change and covering the hole with my finger between old-out and new-in?
Anybody done this?

I just changed mine a few weeks ago. I didn't want to take any chances with my opti, so I drained the coolant before pulling the sensor. The sensor has a pretty large diameter thread so if you don't drain the coolant and aren't lightning fast with that finger, you're going to spill a lot of coolant.

Place a pan under your radiator petcock, then open it to recover most of the coolant.
Next, remove the coolant temp sensor.
Then, refill following the procedures in your FSM or owner's manual, including opening the bleed valves to release trapped air pockets.
