C5 MAF unit on 95 LT1???

Default C5 MAF unit on 95 LT1???
I've been told my 95 LT1 can benifit from installing a larger maf sensor unit from a 1998 or later unit and that it plugs right in. Is this true?

A stock LT1 doesn't need a larger MAF. In fact, I'm pretty sure LT1 and LS1 MAF's are the same.

Sooooo? What if your not stock? (383 build with better heads and exhaust) Part of the argument was that the maf's are the same thru 97, but that the 98 and later were considerably larger, but with the same electrical connector and output.
