They hook (ET Streets) extremely well on a C-4, at least for me. If I understand what you are saying, that the tire could wrinkle slightly different on the inside vs the outside, that may be part of it.
yes that was my reasoning

My observations have never seen the sidewall distort enough to compensate for the outside lift during camber change. After a run my tires show visible marks on the inner half with nothing on the outer.
The camber change on launch can be dialed out by changing the chamber setting but then it would be wrong for stret use.
well it was just a thought.. and i was using et streets as an example of a tire with a wrinkle wall.. just wondering if have you played with tire pressure? i know with my camaro and et streets i could wrinkle the tires quite a bit to the point where the rims were very close to the pavement but that is apples and oranges and just thought if you used a tire with a bit more sidewall and around 15psi you may acheive a better contact pad in our cars.. but i don't really care to put the effort in that much... and as i said.. just a thought..
my first time dragging on goodyear eagle HP ultra 285's i had a best 60' of 1.833s. Like some of the others a few spins then hook with a good chirp into second.
Not me. Ask them how much they spent on breaking parts. Ok maybe just a little jealous.
Repeat after me: "Race it, break it, fix it, race it"....I broke my Dana 36 about 4 years ago (no big surprise) and put in a Dana 44...over 600 passes since then without any breakage of anything...
The old story will never change...Speed costs money so how fast do you want to go?...the faster you go the more stuff breaks...same old, same old...
