OK guys i have an 88 , the pletumn and the SLP runners have been worked on and port matched. I have just recieved an intake that DRM has did their magic on. My question is can i remove the pletumn and runners from the intake without seperating the pletumn from the runners can't remember. I do have the different bolts supplied by SLP with the long hex tool which makes it easier than the stock bolts. Just curious its not that much more to seperate the pletumn from the runners.
Thanks :)
There are two lower bolts holding the runners to the intake that can't be accessed without removing the plenum first. If someone has been able to get to these without removing the plenum, please let me know what magic tool you used. :) I had enough trouble with those in plain view.
With the big SLP runners you get a complete bolt set that is like a hex headed bolt hardly no head on it at all but enough to maintain a very good seal and they give you a hex headed tool that is fairly small in diameter and about 8 to 10" long and it makes getting to the bolts ( all the bolts) much easier that the stock ones. There are still some inteligent people in this world so i say thanks to whom ever thought of that one...
Taking the plenum off is at max, what, 20 minutes? Do it as often as I've had the good fortune of doing it ( :mad ) and you can do it in under 10 minutes.
