How does the cold start system work?
Hi
Can anyone help me with how the cold start enrichment works on a 86 TPI.
Since have some problems which were cued by replacing the MAF, the car seems to run very rich during start up. Before the problems when cold you could just turn the key and it would instantly jump into life at abou 1200 rpm for a few seconds before gently dropping to around 900 to 1000 in N. Now the car seems to start on 3 or 4 pots for a few revs before picking up on all 8 and smells very rich: indeed if you stop cranking before all 8 have chimed in, it des and you cannot start it again for about 10 mins.
Any help or ideas about how to check the cold start circuits would be appreciated
