Default Help removing stock right runner!!!

Hi All,

In trying to get to a thermostat housing bolt that broke, I realized that I would have to remove the plenum / runners to be able to have clear access to drilling and extracting the bolt out at the proper angle.

After reading the FSM and the haynes book, I removed the throttle/TV cables and cable holder then unscrewed the 4 top torx bolts and the 5 lower torx bolts on the right runner but it still feels "bolted" in somewhere.

Is there another bolt somewhere else ? The FSM says 5 lower bolts exist and I got em all. I tried gently prying the runner from the plenum to no avail. I gradually put my entire weight behind this and was not able to even budge the darn thing.

I know that gaskets keep things wedged together but this runner is ridiculously stuck on there and feels bolted down somewhere. The last time it was removed and re-installed was only 2 years ago when my L-98 became a 383 L98. It shouldn't be that "stuck" on there.

It seems like a lot of folks have removed their plenum/runners and I'd be very appreciative if any one of those folks could point me in the right direction. Thanks to everyone who chimes in -Lee

There is a bolt or two that you have to get from the backside, you wont see the head from looking at the front of the runners. It is either the very front or rear runner(its been awhile)

for closure and in case anyone else had this same question, there was ONE more bolt that needed to be gotten from the backside of the right plenum right around the throttle body left area. I was even able to get to it with a long straight torx T40 driver.

Thanks a lot for the help! -Lee
