Default AC problem

My AC is running hot. Upon starting the car the LEDs at the controls flash for a few secs. Any ideas where to start?

The controller is telling you that there is a failure and probably a fualt code has been set.

To enter the diagnostic mode, push and hold the fan up and down arrows at the same time for about 5 seconds.

The display should show "-00".

Push "Auto" and the display will show any fault codes that are stored in the computer.

If it's low on freon, this is one easy job you can do yourself. Depending on the year it is either R-12 or R-134A, or it may have been changed over to R-134A. One stop to a parts store for one or two cans of freon and an installation hose and your are all set!!!!
