Everytime I close my passenger window I have to lower it before I close it, I have to lower it atleast 3 or 4 inches or it will hit my roof or something? and my neighber said if I do not lower my window before I close the door, the window will shatter. heres a pic. the piece that hits looks like its part of the targa top. on the right upper part of the window. heres the pic, and in the pic you can see where the window has been hitting it
GM installed a nylon (plastic) block to limit the travel of the window in the tracks on the C4. This block will wear or even crack over time and let the window get out of alignment and cause the problem you are having. The part is about $5. The installation is a few hours at a trim and glass shop - if they will take it on. My trim man here in Clarksville, TN has done enough to do them blindfolded now.
I had this problem, on mine it turned out to be the window channel guide. I rolled the window down and looked inside with a flashlight. Was kind of hard to see in there, but I could make out the broken plastic in the bottom of the door. I think the part was about $15, and took a couple hours to install.
On the pics I think your trying to link them from a private album or email, try putting them on photobucket.com
If you would like to fix this yourself send me you e-mail address and I will send you the PDF file on how to.
May I please get a copy of the instructions. I believe I am having the same issue. I will attempt to fix it myself. I heard something fall to the bottom of the inside of the door one day. Since then it goes up too far and hits the convertible top. Any pictures of the part or door inside would also be helpful.
Thank you

I can not access the photo, but it's most likely one of the window stops is broken. The cost about $12 from a chevy dealer. I replaced the front driverside window stop on my 95 because the top back of the window would hit the corner of the vert top. I could actually move the window side to side when it was up.
The door panel has to come off and you will have to have a special tool on the back side of the window stop. The front side has 10mm screws but will turn on the back side if not held. I used the tool that is used on a grinder to change discs.
Oh, a body shop wanted $40+ to change the window stop plus the cost of the stop.

I believe mine is exactly as you described. It goes up about 1/2 - 3/4" too high and it hits the convertible top corner of the top. If I close it with the window all the way up the top of the window overlaps some of the canvas top. I can also tilt it slightly back and forth. Where can the tool be bought?
Thanks for the info.

I don't think the tool can be purchased. If for some reason you can get it, they would want more than it's worth and the chances are slim you would ever use it again.
I purchased a Black and Decker grinder from walmart some years back. There is a tool in there that is used to change out the discs. It is about 4" long and 1" wide with a **** on each end. I was able to get it behind the window stop and then use the 10mm to loosen the screw/nut. Someone on here told me about the grinder tool.
EDIT: Tell you what, if you can find time to come this way one day, I will help you install it. It would probably be cheaper than buying a tool and we could meet. It's about an hour drive from Metairie to Bogalusa.
