Does the plenum extension fit over this coil? I know the Accell coil precludes the use of this extension, but does the Hypertech? Are there any other good aftermarket coils which fit under this extension?

Thanks,
Bob

The HyperTech fits under the plenum tail piece. It is the same height as stock but has a larger crossection. So you will need to take a Dremel to the ring that holds the spark plug wires into the cap to get it to fit over the HyperTech. One feature I liked was the stock look of it all; of course the 53kV doesn't hurt either.

It looks like the DUI cap would fit but I don't have measurements on it.

I just installed my DUI distributor cover and coil last Thursday. If you forgo the DUI coil cover and install the OEM coil cover instead, the rear plenum cover extension should fit fine. I have the street/strip coil/dist. cap and externally it appears identical in height to the OEM coil.

Do you really need the ring that holds the plug wires onto the cap? I haven't had that on my car for years...

Same here. Thanks for the beta on the coil. Gonna get a DUI coil and Dyna-Mod.

I know Crane makes one that fits as stock and I believe MSD does as well.
