1993 trans question?

would a 93 auto have the 4L60E or a 700R trans???

It is the non electronic version. 700r4/4l60.
The old timers call it a 700, but gm called it a 4l60 in 1993

Hey Pete, is 93 the 1st year they referenced it as a 4l60. It seems like I remember seeing in my 92 SM it also referenced it as a 4l60?

I think it was 88 or so when gm changed the name. Not exactly sure though. It may have been 89.

BTW: The case on the 1993 Corvette (and the valve body) is unique to the year.. it is a one year only deal.. so dont lose the tailshaft and dont settle for a swap out.. Its a bitch finding some of the internal electronics!!!

I am looking for a higher stall convertor 2300 - 2500 and am just trying to get the correct convertor. do you know how many splines the input shaft is ?
