Default what cat is high flow?

going to replace my cat and add corsa exhaust on my 91 vert. probably gut or elim the pre cats, no headers for now.

cat's run from $50 to $250. How do you know which ones will flow the best? If the $50 one flows the same as the $250 one, I'll go with the $50 one, because I am a cheap skate.

The cheapest GOOD high flow cat I found for our cars was the Carsound (Magnaflow) universal cat with 3" inlet/outlet. Get it welded on.

This is one you have to research high and low. You will see misinformation and the same cat priced from $280 to $80. The fact that a dozen websites all point to the same source ultimately doesn't much help.

I bought a Magnaflow (Car-sound) direct fit for our Volvo and was satisfied but not especially impressed. At least it was in a box marked as a Magnaflow. They don't have a direct fit for the Corvette do they?

I got one welded on. I just bought a stainless steel mandrel bent 2 1/2 front Y pipe from Exotic Muscle. It cost $195.00 and It has no pre cats. I had to keep my stock shorty headers because of California smog laws.

Don't go ebay cheap.

That's what I ended up doing cuz I needed to pass emissions and I thought a high flow cat were all the same.

I took it to a dyno and over 4000 rpm, I only made 15 hp. Flat out, those cheap "hi flow" ebay cats couldn't flow past 4000 rpm.

I got a set from TJWong (forum member). Dynomax 2 3/4" and I like them already without dynoing it. They sound good too.

Well, the 383, Flowmasters and Hooker headers help that too.

I'm sure it will be louder but I haven't installed the front Y pipe yet. I'll let you know how it goes.

The Magnaflow Carsound Cat that I installed was a universal fit. It has the 3" inlet. It flows much better than the stock converter. I had Magnaflow catbacks installed at the same time.

It's because of all the corvettes running around without cats that you have that bad cough?

I today received my Corsa too and tried how the MagnaF/carsound cat fits in that end. Seems to fit nicely. Haven't tried the front Y side yet. But, the box says its direct fit to 91 Vette, so I hope it does.

Here is the Corsa rear Y + MF/Carsound cat
