Mine on my '93 is disabled intermittantly. When I did the LTCC conversion, something went amiss and the ASR only works when it wants to which is fine by me since I shut it off everytime I race it.
Not sure if it can be deleted in the tune. I'm sure there is a way to bypass the switch and remove the bulb from the DIC. I have not tried it, but you could remove the panel the ASR switch is located and if there are two wires that connect to the rear, just connect the wires together and remove the bulb.
Don't think it can be done through the tune? If so, let me know. I would like to disable mine.
The new tuner cat feature allows me to effectively get rid of all the timing it takes out when activated. Other than that, I dont know what else it triggers thats tuneable.
You can bypass the throttle shutdown servo, and you can turn it off in the ECM switch table in TunerCat, however i dont know of a way to stop the brake intervention without reaching out and pressing that button, which is so **** easy to do its just not funny.
Press the button to turn it off, surely its not that much of a drama!!

Only when it spins the wheels, then if its on and working, it will close the throttle abit and retard the timing in order to reduce the power output, as well as apply the rear brakes in order to reduce the rear wheel spin.
If the wheels dont spin, the ASR doesnt do a damn thing but sit there. If the button on the dash is pressed to turn the system off, it is just like as if its not there at all, and the EBTCM acts only for ABS.

You can tune the PCM so that the timing is not retarded, when the wheels slip, but the ASR will still push your foot up. It feels a lot better without the timing pulled.
Forum member RUKWKR removed his ASR completely using an F-body throttle cable I believe.
You got it.
95' Z28 cable - but I wanted to get rid of that damn ugly black box and its associated disaster of cabling but that's me.
You of course lose cruise if you go this route which was fine for me but some might not like.
Since my car is not a daily driver, never sees rain, etc. I also got rid of my ABS sensors and eventually will reroute all my brake lines (like ski_dwn_it just did and he loves it).
Sorry to bring up an old issue, but has anyone figured out how to set the default ASR setting to off? I used to have a TransAm, where you could just buy a relay to stick inside the switch to make the default setting off instead of on.
I don't really need to remove the ASR system, primarily because I don't want to lose ABS or cruise. I just want it to default to off.
