Default Nitrous purging question......

Do you guys purge before each run, or only before the first run? And how long before you make the run do you purge? I think maybe I'm purging too soon, then the nitrous is getting hot in the line. Is the idea to do it instantly before you run so the nitrous in the line is cold? My NMU gets really hot as it is on the inner fender, just across from the header. Is that ok? I don't know where else I could mount it. (It's a Zex kit) I saw by searching that most guys purge with 3 short blasts, so I'll have to do that now, as I was purging with one big blast. I have a problem with my nitrous going flat on me for a second or 2 in the middle of 2nd gear. I just purged more than I usually do, and noticed that I get a split second of nothing, then a white cloud, then about a second of nothing again, then more white cloud, but not as white as the first white cloud. I could purge forever and get a whitish "smoke stream" coming out, but not a big bright white cloud. I think the second of nothing is the flat spot I'm getting in the middle of 2nd gear. I think I wasn't purging enough to get that out. It must be that air gets up in the line somehow, even if I don't disconnect the bottle? I hate purging much because it seems like a big waste of nitrous, but it seems it is necessary for me to purge more.

you might have a spot somewhere upstream where the line is getting heated either by exhaust heat or other. That would be the 2nd clear burst.

So, purging seconds before I run will solve the problem if that is what is happening? Or am I going to need to re-mount the NMU and re-route the lines? My NMU is on the driver's side, just in from the front tire. It is right across from the header.
