700R4 A/T problems and questions
My '89 (98k miles) had some transmission issues a few months ago (unwillingness to shift gears on it's own), so I took it to a reputable shop and they rebuilt the valve bodies and that pretty much fixed it.
But now there's a noise (like a rattle) that I hear whenever my tranny shifts into O/D, and it continues until I stop accelerating and reach my cruising speed. It's been getting progressively worse, and the harder I try to accelerate, the harder and louder the noise gets. I've been bypassing the problem by manually keeping it in 3rd gear till I get to the speed I want, and then pushing it down into O/D.
Does anybody know what may be going on, or am I gonna be in for some ugly and expensive tranny issues soon?

If it is external, it may be a broken flexplate. Investigate this because a broken flexplate could be a dangerous situation. I plan to have an upgraded trans for sale within a week. It will be listed in the c4 parts for sale section and will be priced right.
