"Quiktubes from Quickie Racing are a quick and easy way to run open headers without going through the hassle of jerking the entire exhaust system. After splicing cutouts into your exhaust system, simply undo a few wing nuts on race day, and you're ready for action. Available in 2 1/2", 3" & 3 1/2" sizes."
They are 29 bucks a piece. I though about doing this instead of Muffler Elims...that way I don't have to have it loud all of the time (until I can afford Corsa).........What size is stock exhaust tubing?
My Vette is quick enough to not be embarassed with the current exhuast note. However, before I'd go to cutouts she has to run low 12s.
I believe my stock L98 front Y was 2 1/4" mangle bent tubing.
I agree with you and am not embarrased by my cars sound at all.....i am just looking for an alternative to muffler elims so I can cap the noise level when I want too (and it is cheaper)......
SuperTrapp mufflers are tunable with end cap "diffuser discs" and can go from medium to loud. I think they even have a version that you can completely remove the internal baffling for race use. They run about $250-300 for a pair; look in Summit's catalog.
Exhaust cut outs are neat. I have used them on several cars and they work great. I used a short section of pump pipe with threads on the end, so you can just unscrew the cap to open the exhaust. The type with wing nuts also work good. There is nothing like the sound of an open exhaust and a high lift cam. May not go faster, but sounds great. Sid.
