I have a 92 coupe with MagnaFlow exaust and SLP intake with air foil. Thinking of ordering a hypertech chip with low temp thermastat good move or no? What would you add not to radical?
Only chips that are worth the money are custom chips, and custom chips are not needed until you make significant changes to the engine (like a camshaft or head change). It is not needed when you change to a lower temperature thermostat, which you should run a specific search on (in the C4 Tech archives).
LT1 is pretty good to start with, so anything worth doing probably qualifies under your definition of "radical". Headers, cam, heads, RR, etc. Personally i'd do the 1.6RR and headers first.
Does that include nitrous, heads/cam, blower? You need to give more info about your current setup. Auto / Manual? Rear gears? etc.. Inexpensive bolt-ons will only take you so far. Some of them will do nothing at all.

I say no on the chip and thermostat. Get a high-flow air filter and if you've got low miles on the valve springs slap on some 1.6 roller rockers.
