Default lowering rear end

Just lowered my rear end(haha). There was a bolt with a bushing on top of the hub carrier and another bushing below the spring.Replaced the 8" with 10" and achieved what I wanted. Mines an '87.
Then I see this posting for an '84 lowering and it has many more parts to it.Ecklers and the rest show the '84 and '87 to be the same with only the parts that I have on mine. What's going on here???It also seems that by replacing the same piece of tube he has achieved nothing except renewing the bolt.

You are missing my point entirely.I could post the whole series but I think what's shown should make my point. There's a nut,a bolt,a spacer, two upper bushings and two lower ones.Is this the factory set up?????

Thats not factory, stiff springs do not have much arch and when the suspension is loaded and then unloaded quickly the spring will actually ride up the bolt. to prevent this you use this type of arrangement to keep the spring in contact with the hub. had to do this on C3's with daytona springs. hope this helps.......

OK I'm with you on this.I don't know what this guy is up to,perhaps i should repost his whole article. .It seems he has a lot of disciples "lowering their rears just like him" and posting great results~~~ Obviously unless you increase the length of the bolt and the tube you achieve nothing. It was on digitalcorvette so I should have known better but there you go.
