Default How to make my AC cooler?

Ok I replaced my AC compressor, dryer, orfice tube, and AC works COLD. But when I got home, the car sat in the sun for a long time before I used it again, and when I turn the AC on, it takes a LONG time to get cold. But when theres shade outside and not so hot its gets cooler alot faster. How can I always keep it cool all the time or faster in Hot weather?

It takes a while to cool down a hot interior, especially if its dark color

The cars with glass tops take longer to cool down, too.

Also, keep in mind the A/C system pressures will also vary due to ambient temperatures and relative humidity.

As ambient temp and humidity go up so do the system's pressures and the A/C's vent outlet temp.

my interior is beige/tan color and gets HOT, but would wrapping the lines make it cooler?

Noticed a huge difference replacing the glass top with the solid. Much cooler inside.

I wrapped my a/c lines (cold side) with some pipe insulation and noticed a significant difference.

There was a recent thread on this, one member measured a 1° difference with them wrapped. Based on that I decided not to bother. Have you checked the evap core at all? Mine was blocked.

Picture is the Evaporator Core - It has a foam filter from the factory and often, when they look like that, it's leaking with the oil destroying the filter and restricting air flow.

Assuming you have the equipment, post the operating pressures and vent temps noting the outside air temp. You might also determine the cutoff threshold for the low pressure switch. Put it on MAX and disconnect the Blower Motor. That will drop the low side. Note the pressure the compressor cutsoff at.

There is a limit to how cool you can go.
If the evaporator core is lower than about 32*F, it will freeze the moisture on it and plug up.
32* at the evaporator core translates into about 40* at the vent outlets.
If you can achieve 38*~ 40* at the vent outlets in recirclulate with the blower going full blast, that is about as good as it gets.

You can see it and take pix if you loosen the passenger wheel well and pull out the blower motor.

In south Florida, after sitting in the sun all day, the interiors get real hot. Vettes have a large glass exposure (windshild, two side windows and the hatch) to the sun. A dark, reflective tint helps alot.
