Default Cruse Control Issues

I bought my '84 Vette about 6 weeks ago and I really love it. It was at a nice price and I love the power. I do have a problem with the Cruse Conrol. 3 years earlier the previous owner put a new battery in. When doing so they had to remove the Cruse Control unit from the frame to get the battery out. I checked the fuse and it was good. Does anyone know how the linkage should be adjusted under the boot? Currently it is quite slack on the chain dangles. Any recommendations would be greatly received.

Thanks!

Removed the cruise to install the battery? They're at two different ends of the car

Check the two vacuum lines below the servo. One is big, one is small. As are the fittings they go over so that you can't mix them up.
