Its time for new shoes.. whats the best pad for the street.. My last set was EBC green stuff.. got about 20k miles out of them.. it looks like they nuked the rotor however.. I was thinking of tring the hawk hps.. how do they compare?
I haven't tried the EBC's, but I've got Hawk HPS on all my cars and they all stop much better than with whatever was on there. They made my vette alot less scary to be in
The Hawk HPS pads will dust a bit more than the EBC Green Stuff padsbut will last longer. Green Stuff pads, like the HPS pads, have a good initial cold bite and no squeal.
I ran a set of EBC pads and they seemed OK but they had a very short life. Ran them for a track day and managed to use up about 40% of the pad. They stopped decently but once they got hot, braking performance dropped off quickly. Once they cooled down, they were OK again until the got hot. The Hawk pads won't do that.
