Default need info on 84 auto.

im looking to service the 700r4 in my 84 corvette. and while its getting rebuilt I would like to slap in a new torque converter as well.
does any one know the stall speed is on the origonal torque converter? and is it a lock up type or not?

ive heard that the stock stall could be any where from 1500 to 2200 so this is making it hard for me to pick a new stall speed for the converter, as I want some better off the line performence, but also drive mostly on the street, and dont want to kill the tranny buzzing a 3k converter all day long around town. if the stock converter is something close to 1500 then im thinking a 2300 to replace it, do you think that 800 rpms is enough diffrence to notice off the line, yet still remain drivable around town?
right now the car has the stock 3.07's and some sticky street tires.
I have another dana 36 carrier set with a stock set of 3.07's that im going to take out eventually and put in either some 3.54 / 3.73's still have not decided wich gears to go with either. apparently the cars that came with 3.07 or higher have a series 3 carrier? and the cars that came with 2.73 gears are using a series 2 carrier? I would be super bummed if I orderd gears to fit the wrong carrier unit.

man there is still so much to sort out on this car, I hate being in decicive.
