Default Anyone know what code 32 is?

I'm trying to troubleshoot a poor performance issue on a '91 L98. Car starts and idles, but there is definitely a shake that wasn't there before. When I drive it, it feels like there is a miss. During acceleration, the car feels like it is running rough but smooths out somewhat when coasting or at constant throttle. I pulled all the spark plugs and they look okay. I used to get an intermittent code 45 (right bank running rich) with car running and feeling fine, but I just pulled the codes again after this newest problem and got a code 32 as well as the 45. There is no code 32 listed in the FSM, goes from 31 to 33. Any ideas what it could be? Thanks!

Code 32 has to do with the EGR (exhaust gas recirculate) unit. It could be a bad EGR valve (on top of the intake manifold under the plenum) or EGR solenoid (mounted on front of intake manifold near upper water hose). You can trace the vacuum line from the EGR valve to the solenoid.

For future reference.

Welcome to C4 vette codes it is very ....
First locate your car's ALCL
this component is located just below the instrument panel and
to the left of the center console. Remove the plastic cover
the first two slots to your right are the A & B slots for a drawing of
the alcl module's picture is added below.
The A slot is the diagnostic slot and the B slot is the ground
slot. insert the computer key(jumper wire) into these slots (with the engine
off) this is very important...now only put the ignition key
to on ( not start !!!) the check engine light will display a
code 12 which is one flash followed by two flashes.
this code will be flashed three times ..followed by the
trouble code stored in your car's computer.
what ever the code is it will be flashed three times.
have a paper and pencil ready and write down the
code .

code 13 =>oxygen sensor
code 14 =>coolant sensor
code 15 =>coolant sensor
code 21 =>throttle position sensor
code 22 => throttle position sensor
code 23 => manifold air temp sensor
code 24 => vehicle speed sensor
code 25 => manifold air temp sensor
code 32 =>egr system
code 33 =>map sensor
code 34 =>maf sensor
code 35 => idle air control
code 41 => cylinder select error
code 42 => electronic spark control
code 43 => electronic spark control
code 44 => lean exhaust
code 45 => rich exhaust
code 51 => PROM
code 52 => fuel calpak
code 53 => system over voltage
code 54 => fuel pump circuit
code 55 => ecm
code 62 => oil temp

This has been my experiance, I put true duals on my car, and it set a code 32 the first time I drove it. I had a custom chip burned w/o the ERG, no problems now.

As for your problem, it sounds like you have some bad fuel injectors. Are they the orginal Mutlitechs?

You´ve been looking in the wrong section. Try 6E3-A-1 and you will find code 32. This is because you looked at vin-J instead of vin-8 and as I see it you don´t have a J (zr1). Good luck.

Thanks for all the replies. I did some more searching and found the EGR reference for an earlier car. Then when I went back to the FSM and checked in the EGR section, it did mention the code 32. Is it feasible to run without the EGR working at all (get the valve to close and stay closed)? I do have to pass emissions before I can register it again, so I suppose I will need to fix it sooner or later as well as the running rich problem.
