Intermittent cruise control --- Help!
My 1992 cruise control decides for itself when to work and when not to work. I find no vacume problems under the hood. I have read here about a switch at the brake that can cause this problem. Can anyone shed light on the fix for this symptom?

I had this problem on my Pathfinder several years ago.
It was the actuator gone bad.
it has died on me again, and I decided to let it rest in piece!!..easier on my wallet too. :smash:

There are switches on the clutch and brake pedals. These are press fit into the brackets and tend to work loose and hang just at the point where they will allow the cruise to work at certian times and fail at others. Check these switches, make sure they are pressed all the way into the brackets and that the plungers are touching the pedal arms.

Scorp its an automatic. I am going to look again for cracked plastic connectors and hoses under the fuel rails and at the switch attached to the brake brackets if I can fit my squatty body under there!:lol:
