Changing the OD to OFF by Default
How do I change the function of the OD on my '86 with the 4+3 so that the OD is not automatically turned ON? I'd like the OD to be OFF by default so that it only activates when I push the button.

Actually there is a way to do it by the wires at the ECM. I did it this weekend HOWEVER my CRS is kicking in and do not remember witch wires they were.
Do a search and you will find it on here. That is how the guy that I did his car for found it and it worked

If you don't want to mess with the computer you could also run a relay from the starting circuit to ground the ovedrive switch. There's a starter interrupt relay right in the dash there you could use as your trigger source. Then you just need to ground it and run a wire to the downstream side of the switch, which is nearby.
