What is the best method for determining what stall speed should be ordered when purchasing a new torque converter. I have a 1994 Corvette/LT1 that is used for bracket drag racing and I believe I need a new torque converter. I want to buy one with a stall speed which will offer the most benefit when using the Corvette at the drag strip. What information do I need to determine the best choice in ordering a specific stall speed?
Without a trans brake you can almost figure on 1/2 or a little more stall on the line of what you order.I have a 3800 vig and it stalls at around 2200 and it is a 3800 stall.
I have a 4500 stall in my 86 and I am lucky to bring it up on the converter to 2200.
