Re: Need quick info about Tach Wire/Lead for 96 LT-4 (MVR 155)
Mike,
I don't have the answer, but one of the other forum guys who does (Mikey) is in town for a meeting. He installed a shift light on his '94 which has the same coil wiring setup as a '96. I'll talk with him tonight and he or I can give you a call with the info.

Re: Need quick info about Tach Wire/Lead for 96 LT-4 (Midnight)
I was able to find it on a search on CamaroZ28.com last night. Its the white wire in position 13 on the red connector of the PCM.
Midnight, thanks for the link anyways :)
Mark, thanks alot for the phone call tonight, I wish you the best of luck on getting your car straightened out. hopefully in the spring we can get with both of our cars at the track......roadrace or dragstrip :)

On my '94 LT1, I had to bypass the in-line tach filter before I could get a tach signal. A fellow forum member told me where and how. Here's how: Follow the coil wire harness which is in front of the passenger side cylinder head. Just below the upper radiator hose there should be a small black box, about 1 1/4"X3/4", protruding out of the harness with a single black wire and two white wires going to it. It will be wrapped in tape. You need to cut the two white wires and splice them together at the harness and then tape the filter back into place. You should then be able to tap into the white wire to get your tach signal for your rpm window switch. This worked for my '94 but I'm not positive if this is the same procedure for your '96 LT4, but if you have the black box with the same wiring, I would say that it is the same. Good luck! :)
