I recently replaced my clutch on my 4+3 87 Corvette. Everything was great at first. Now over that past few months my clutch pedal travel has become very strange. For the first 3 or 4 inches of travel it feels as if is not engaging anything, then you feel the resistance the last couple of inches. Also, my clutch take-up is VERY close to the floor. It feels as if all the clutch action occurs in the first couple of inches off the floorboard.
I also feel as if my clutch is starting to slip on full throttle runs. BTW, the overdrive works great.
I have searched the forums. And any help is appreciated!
If your clutch is new the hydraulics are the first place Id look. bet you are losing fluid....Look up under the dash, any moisture on the firwall or the carpet> Same with the slave under the car. Id replace them both and be done with it.

I had the same problem when I installed my new master cylinder.
Sounds like you got air in the slave cylinder.
I'll look for the thread, but what I did was remove the slave mounting bolts, pulled it out of the bell housing enough to get at the pin and watch the valve slide. Took the top off the master reservoir, then pushed the slave cylinder all the way in by hand. This removed all the air in the slave.
Works like new, great pick-up, a little higher than half-way in travel downwards.

I did this last night and now my clutch has NO resistance! I was going to try bleeding it, but did not have any fresh brake fliud. I'll pick some up and try it tonight, but I am assuming that the master is bad. Am I going down the right road?

Either the Master or the Slave.
I would think you'd have a puddle of fluid somewhere. If it's the master, check your carpeting down in the left foot area (this is where mine leaked).
If it's the slave, you should see the leak under the bell housing L.H. side.
Also, if you did remove the slave, make sure the pin is in between the slave cylinder and clutch throw-out arm. That's the only thing I can think of that would give no resistance.
