Another LT-4 intake question.
Since the intake is gonna be off soon for the cam, as well the heads. I decided to bend the budget a little, I'm going to get Agostino to do the head clean up and valve work. I was wondering if anyone has smoothed out the inside of your intake, removing the casting bumps and roughness. Seems straight foreward to me. Any tips would be helpful.
There is an Agostino comaro running around ottawa with a dyno sheet stating 420+hp at the wheels not bad for a 396 worth $20,000

Re: Another LT-4 intake question. (1CanuckVette)
1canuckvette,
smoothing the intake manifold is very simple, i am actually doing my fathers LT4 intake tomorrow, i just finished all the head work tonight, they look so pretty :D but the manifold is just like you said straight forward. i recommend using an air die grinder with a pressure regulator on the compressor and go to a local tool supply store and purchase the 1/4" bit that holds the cartridge sanding rolls. the best grit is the 80 grit. If they have them available, i would also get the 120 grit sanding flap wheel, this will even out the marks left from the 80 grit cartridge roll. mine all came in a kit from standard abrasives, but i buy extra rolls and such from my local tool supply store. use the gasket and a permanant magic marker to line the material inside the gasket you can remove and ask agostino to gasket match the heads so when they come back they are all ready to bolt up. the intake manifold is slightly shorter then the head port and there will be a lip that doesn' block air flow but steps down into the largr and taller head port, his is normal of all LT4 head intake matchings as i have seen 4 like that now. good luck with it and feel free to ask me anything else you might need to know on this.

$20,000 for a 420 Horse 396! That isn't much of a deal...
