Stock Compression Ratio L98??
I have searched but found nothing definitive. I need to know the compression ration of a BONE STOCK 1989 L98 out of an 89 vette. Thanks

89 octane will probably work. owners manual calls for 91.

For 9.5 it should be ok on the lowest, but no higher than midgrade should be necessary.
Only way to be sure is to hook up a scanner and run it and see.

Probably not, at least 87. Unless youre at high elevation.
Here we only get as low as 87.

I would make sure the initial timing is set at the factory 6*, may be able to get away with 85 octane by bumping back to 4*, but I wouldn't do it. I am pretty sure 6* timing and 87 octane will work just fine.

OOH, you said "crappiest" gas. That has nothing to do with octane. Crappiest gas is Citgo.
Go ahead, start a poll someone!!!
I'll get hammered for this one
