The best I could find was a re-build on the Bilsteins as well as the actuators. Still too expensive for my needs, so I bought a set of (4)
Z51 Bilstein shocks from a forum member for $220 the set. They are $300 per set new if you prefer. Made a world of a difference for a quarter of the cost. I kept the old units in case my ship comes in.
I have the selective ride control on my 95. I can not tell a difference in any of the three selections. The cost of the replacment shocks is crazy.
My 92 has QA1 adjustable shocks on it and they are great. I applaud VR'92 for installing these shock. They are 12 way adjustable for a stiffer ride or softer ride. I can tell a difference in 2 clicks either way. A set of these will go on the 95 when the shocks go bad. I have seen them priced from $150 or less to $200 each.
OEM FX3 shocks can be had new for about $200 each. Some of the accessory catalogs have them and you might be able to find them on eBay. Bilstein will rebuild your shocks for less (depending on parts needed) and they can also do custom valving to meet specific requirements.
I had FX3 on my 92 and I thought it was a great system. I could easily tell the difference between the settings. While the selector switch has three different settings, FX3 also uses vehicle speed as input to the actuators.
Effectively, the faster you go, the stiffer the shock becomes depending on the position of the switch. The settings do overlap some; for example, at 70 MPH, the "Tour" setting is actually stiffer than the "Performance" setting at 25MPH.
