I have an 88 corvette. And the anti-lock break system keeps flashing on the instrument panel and then the rpm's drop down to around 200. What does this mean?

Fella I not trying to give you are hard time but check to see if there is a little 10X note in the corner of the RPM display..............if so..............200 X 10=2,000. Is the car a manual or auto....what I'm after is the car moving when when the light comes on......or can you put it in neutral and rev the engine up and the light comes on?
You could make some quick checks to see if it is some thing simple:
Each of the 4 wheel has a ABS sensor on it. The sensors will have wires connecting to it that run back to the brake control module....make sure the insulation on these wires is still intact and uncut/uncracked. If cracked or cut get some of that "liquid electrical" and apply a thin layer over the length of cracks/cuts then wrap the wire with electrical tape. Each of these ABS sensors (pick-up/tachometer) may need to be removed and cleaned (use no grease -- just wipe them off) as small metal fragments may have become attached to the sensor causing signal pick-up issues. The wheel bearings basically have a series of teeth that the 4 sensors (Pick-up/tachometers) see and interpret as a high low signals....if crap (dirt) gets in-between the teeth it could/will make the sensor give a false reading to the ABS system and will set a abnormal condition. When you remove the sensor to clean the tips look through the sensor's monting hole...spin the wheel and check the teeth for cleanliness.
There should be connector on the brake master cylinder as well.....clean it then reseat the connector.
