I am going to replace my IAC in a 1990. The prices seem to be all over the place. Borg Warner $150.00 through Wells and Duralast at $50.00. Places like Corvette America, Ecklers, etc. are in the $85.00 range. Is there a difference? Recomendations? Thanks for your help, Jack
I just found someone on ebay who sells new AC Delco Idle Air Controls for 1985-1993 ($50) Corvettes and 1994-1996 ($20). He's advertising them as the genuine Delco part. Has excellent feedback.
For $20 plus $6 shipping, I just ordered one for my '96. I figure it's worth the 'risk'. I'll let you know how it goes if anyone would like.

Well, they shipped it UPS in two days. Awesome. It looks like the genuine Delco part even with the "Assembled in Mexico" stamped on it. The shaft is shiny new and clean and pushed in less than 28mm(per the FSM) very smoothly. I put it in today and so far it works like a champ. It's a bargain deal for $26 shipped (for the '94-96s).
I have found out over the years, the aftermarket parts other than GM a/c delco is HIT and MISS...you either get a great part or a lousy one.
With GM a/c delco replacement parts,in my cases, they have always worked and lasted for a long time out of the box, except alternator rebuilds.Have yet to go wrong with a new sensor or etc.The again,a rebuilt alternator isnt the same as new electronic parts.
I would try and find an a/c delco part New,and shop around for the best price.Theres alot of good deals out there, just have to look.Them corvette catalogs dont always have the best prices.
Take it back, they are supposed to be warranted for a year.
It depends on the store and where you live.I bought new stuff from Autozone and Advance and sometimes its only 90 days for the warranty while in other states or stores its a year of lifetime.
Its
I've bought duralast and genuine GM parts..both failed... so why not save money and use whatever is cheaper?
Because you are practically guaranteed the one from Auto Zone will go bad. Been there, done that. I got a used one from Jay at Vette2Vette (815-673-6200) and it's still on the car.
