Hi guys i have a quick question for you i have a stock 89 with a 700r4 but i'm afriad i blew it over the weekend. The transmission that is. I have a 4l60e laying around and i was wondering if i could bolt the transmission up or do i need the control module?

Won't shift without a computer, sorry. Check the C4 parts for sale section seem to recall seeing a trans available, good luck.

You can either get an aftermarket controller for it to make it shift, or whack a manual valve body in it and shift it yourself, but as Toptechx6 said, it wont shift on its own

Yeah i figured that but thought i might double check here. Do they make a manual valve body for it? I was just curious if the vette had the computer already to run it. but not in 89 i guess thanks guys

No the 89 computer wont run it, 94 is the first year that will. As far as i know there is a manual valve body for it, im not certain though.
