Default Which relay is this?

In the corner. The relay farthest possible on the drivers side, behind the battery near the cockpit.

My uncle just touched it and got burned and he said it is melting, so ill need a new one.

What does that relay do?

What year is your car? On my 86 those are the MAF burnoff and MAF power relays ...(Mine are two different part #'s but on most others you can interchange them ...like $8.00 at autozone/checker).

MAF relay. Check the wire insulation at the connector. Over time, the insulation can shrink back, exposing bare wires.

There are two ways. Snip the wires even for a fresh start with wire cutters, then just transfer over the metal connector leads.

Or

Unclip each terminal from the plastic harness end, and slide a piece of heat shrink over it. Then heat the shrink to insulate the exposed end.

Default Another way.

One way I've found that works is the tool handle dip. If you use a small brush or Qtip, you can cover each wire seperatly and they're waterproof. You can find it at most tool stores. Most of the big chains have it.
