With installing an SR, does one HAVE to take off the valve covers and rocker arms somewhere to be able to install the lower runner bolts?
Ive installed SLP runners with very low access but didnt have to remove the rocker arms or the valve covers with the tool i had.
Just wondering..is it really that tight with the SR?
:)
I had to remove the valve covers, but didn't remove the rockers. Since I'll be ripping them off again in a few weeks, I figured if the allen bolts weren't tight enough, I'd just chalk it up to experience. Considering there are two (three?) other torx bolts holding each runner pair to the base, I figured it was NBD.
Thanks...just a note, I dont have the SR or am I installing it...I was just curious.
I used a long allen type ball wrench to do the SLP runners a few years back and it worked really good.
Ths was just a question ive always wanted to know.
:)
I used to have the Super Ram-LPE 219/219 combo on my Z28. I'll never have another one! I was pleased with the Super Rams performance, but the quality was absolutely pathetic.
I didn't care for the way it fit. It seems as though they could do a better job designing it....those bolts are a bit=ch to get in from the bottom side of the plenum. I don't mind the castings or anything else...looks good and deffinately runs better.
When my EGR Valve was replaced...the long ball end thing was used. It was still difficult to get it off...but easier than doing it without that tool. It's a nice intake. Functions pretty well too :).
