I just bought a new speedo/tach gauge cluster. The seller says it has 112k miles on the odometer, but I only have about 95k. How do I change the new cluster to match my miles?
Am I gonna have to live with it like that?
I am putting in the white face gauges in as well.
My speedometer fritzes out an me sometimes and my tach doesn't work right. I have a new tach filter but I am going to try this first. I hope it fixes both problems.
Yes, I will post pics when I'm done.
You shouldn't need to change anything, the mileage is stored in the CCM and it can only be changed with the Tech one within the first 100 miles after replacement.
Don't worry about swapping the cluster. Your mileage is not stored there. I believe it's in the CCM (others might chime in as to the correct location). I don't know if the filter will solve your speedo issue, but good luck.
PS. Where did you manage to score a filter for your 91? GM has discontinued them for some time.

It's doing this....but worse, it's even shut off completely. That's why I am trying the new cluster.
The filter is from Corvette Central. The catalog says it fits, but I haven't tried installing it yet. It looks like I'll have to remove the distributor to get to it. So, that's why I hope the cluster fixes my tach too. I haven't heard of anyone who has succesfully fix a 90-91 tach. I'll let you guys know what happens.
