Default WOW! Engine was not blown + sounds !

Today i was looking at my vette..and ...thinking i opened the door, put it in D and pushed it a bit,1/4 wheel rotation, not more,
connected the battery, turn the ignition and ROOOMMM !
IT STARTED ! like new again !
wow im happy,i thought the engine was really damaged but it doesnt smoke or something weird..but .....i think there could be some damage..
there is dry sound tak tak tak tak f(not so terribly loud but noticeable) rom the heads i think the lifters are in bad shape (im guessing) or something,i made it run for 1 minute or less, and know i donno what to do,should i move it to my friend's house ?
i want to change the oil pump as well,is it easy to do ?
what you think its wrong with my car ?
and it has another sound i never ever noticed before
sounds like the fuel pump "nnnnnnnnnnnnn" but this sound comes from the "bread box" but i dont know whats going on !

I will be honest... if you have that many problems, a new oil pump is a waste of good money.

rebuild it... or replace it...

Default Pull the motor

If your oil pressure was dropping to zero, and it seized up the motor is junk wether it restarted or not. It CAN fire but that doesnt mean your internals arent gone. The tapping, if its any longer than usual til the motor gets oil pressure is usually an indicator of very low/no oil pressure.

Did you ever put a mechanical gauge on it?

If it truly siezed due to no oil pressure a new pump wont do anything. THe bearings and parts that ride in them dont really touch, they ride on a super fine film of pressurized oil. Once thats gone and the pieces are metal to metal the damage is permanent-Rebuild time.
It never hurts to triple check (like pulling a valve cover off, starting it and seeing if oil suirts out of the rockers).

Instead of continuing to run that engine that most likely has damage from low oil pressure, get it diagnosed and fixed. You're just making the situation worse every time you run it.

Beat it till it breaks somthing or locks up solid. I wouldn't use anything from the old block if oil pressure was in fact an issue.

Tapping could come from several places. If you hear it at the rockers, they're not getting enough oil. If it sounds a little louder and you cant pinpoint it, it could be a spun bearing. It has a very distinct sound and will get louder until BOOM! No more motor.

I spun a rod bearing on another car and it did the same thing.

Sounded great until it heated up.

Check the filter and drain the oil looking for metal bits.

Best to find out what's wrong before you ruin the block, which would really increase the cost of a rebuild.
