I have a 84 with 24k miles on it. I love the look of the intake of l98's is there a head and intake swap or just an intake swap that i can do to have that style of intake?

You could swap the L98, TPI intake onto your L83 engine. That is how Chevy built the first TPI in 1985. That, however would be a tremendous waste of time and money. The L98 has most all the draw backs of the Crossfire. If you want to improve on the Crossfire, take a step up, not sideways. Look into later model, preferably after market fuel injection systems.

Yep, it'll bolt on, but there's a lot more to it than just bolting it on.

I'm thinking you'd need the ECM, wiring harness, fuel pump/rails/lines, sensors, etc.

Yes but only a few will have everything hook up and work. There is a whole lot more to it than just bolting it up. And if you do, there are all the considerations mentioned by JAKE. And then it STILL won't perform appreciably better than it did.

WHAT??? "an motor in stl" Is that English? "i cant get the intake off of for free" That's OK, free is too expensive for this swap anyhow. It is good that you can't get it for tree.

A capital letter at the beginning of a sentence, some punctuation and better misspelled words, would help you to be better understood.

sorry about the miss spelled words in previous post. A 14 hour day on the flight line will do that to you.
what would you recommend doing instead then? I have the skills to do quite a bit but not the knowledge of c4's quite yet to know what to do

your 84 crossfire intake ports need to be opened up to match the head ports. have a pic,
port on left was opened up by grinding on it forever, the small port on the right is stock size.

im 3/4 done porting my crossfire intake. it is crappy hard work.
hopefully it will give me a good performence gain.

the newly ported intake should flow alot more air I hope,

also stock cam shaft is terrible for making power. but the crossfire system needs a small ish cam. adding 1.6 rockers in place of factory 1.5 should act like a bigger cam. not by much, but every little bit helps on the crossfire system.

good luck to you
