Is there any adverse effects to putting in the 160 thermo in cold weather climate? Everett,Wa. It never drops below 30 degrees but close to it. I will be programming for the change also.

You should have no trouble doing that. I live in Chicago and it gets colder than 30 degrees. I have been running a 160 thermostat since 1996. One of the first mods I did. I bought the Vette new. I now have 94,000 miles on my Vette.
Your weather sounds like the same type of weather we get in Arkansas. It gets regularly into the low 20's in the winter. I have been running a 160 degree Hypertech Powerstat for as long as I have owned the car. It was the first thing I did to the car in March of '06. No problems and my heat works fine in the winter.
