Gooey dash
The 1985 I am working on has had one of those cheapie fake woodgrain dash plates double sided tape installed on the dash and console. It was very old and ugly and I pulled it all off. I much prefer the stock black. Can anyone suggest a product to remove the gobs of old hardened glue left behind?

I had that crap on my dash when I first bought it. I removed it by using a spray can of Sticker Shocker I bought from the auto parts store. I actually pulled off the fake wood first. I then sprayed this stuff on the glue and let it sit for a little bit. I then wiped it off. It takes some work as this stuff is not easy to come off. After you get it clean it will look good.. but won't look like new. I eventually bought the new plastic dash pieces.

I used "goo gone" and a lot of elbow grease.

Laquor thinner. Wont hurt the plastic. Sometimes , any citrus cleaner will soften it up also.
If the glue is hard, use a hair drier to soften it up also, and a wooden paint stick sharpened like a scrapper to remove the big stuff...
