Before you go out spending $$ for a new ECM, if you can't find anyone to lend you one, check all connections to the ECM. You may even want to check all your ground connections.

Did this, everything seems OK, tried putting an ice pack on the ECM after running the car, it did not help, car will still not restart when hot/warm. I am looking at getting a new ECM at this point.
Installed the new ECM today, car would still not start. Tried the scanner, which worked I then tried to start the car w/ the scanner hooked up and the car WENT DEAD!!!!
Oh, and one strange thing the scan showed was that the coolant temp was -30.5? Does this mean my coolant temp sensor is bad. I had it out when I changed the wp, and I wrapped some teflon tape around it before I reinstalled, could that be the problem?
Why would the car just go dead? I did not see or hear anything, and no burning smell at all.
I would replace the CTS...that could be what's causing the flooding condition. And I don't think the tape was a good idea...seems to me I read it prevents a good ground. As far as the other...check fuses.
"If I shut it off, it will not restart. It just cranks and I smell gas. This car always started on the first touch of the key."
I had a similar problem last year before I did a complete tune up and replaced all the injectors on 1989 A4. Turned out if the car stalled out I had to wait two-three hours for the car to re-fire. I had two bad injectors, one in each bank. Each bad injector forced the whole bank to shut down, thus BOTH banks shut down=no restart.
You said you replace the injectors, I assume all 8? Maybe re-ohm to verify they are all within spec?
Alright, the car just had a loose battery cable, power is back on.
The security light come on when I open the door, goes out when I try to start the car, comes back on when I remove key.

I just did, and guess what? She started right up
I shut her off, and she restarted no problem
I am going to give her a bath and drink about a gallon of beer
BTW, thanks for all your help. I could not have done this w/o you guys.
