I changed mine not to long ago, from what I remember there was just a end clip that had to be squeezed together. Some blades are made different. It may only slide out in one direction. Study the new blade and compare them to what is on the car. Also turn your wipers on and when the blade gets into a nice position, turn the car off. This will make the wiper arm stay there and be easier to work on.

On my '85 you squeeze this little tab on top and wiggle it free. A screwdriver helps but it isnt necessary. I'm not sure if they changed the design in later years though. I do know that '95-'96 are different.

Look for a little tab that can be pried outward from the arm to release the arm.

make sure you get the low profile blade so it clears the hood edge.

On my 96 LT4, you take a skinny screwdriver blade and gently push it into the center area of the arm where it connects to the blade assembly, and slide the blade unit off the arm.

The comment above about getting low profile blades is spot-on. If you don't get the low profile ones the blade assemblies will foul the the hood and won't seat properly.

Okay, where does one find the low-profile units required by our later C4's??
I've looked at every local autoparts store, without success.

Eckler gives a few choices. Using my 96 LT-4 as an example:

- stock replacement blades are 26.99 each.

- "triple edge" silicone inserts are 9.99 each.

- stock replacement arms are 39.99 each.
