There are several advantages to an electric wp; removes a source of leakage above the opti, good for about 5-7 hp, constant flow regardless of engine rpm, ability to run wp with engine off for cool downs and rad flushes.
I bought a Summit Racing electric water pump. My temps rarely go above 200* now. It's a really nice unit and even comes with a new o-ring for the water pump (you have to buy a new o-ring from the dealer with most other electric water pumps). Only thing I bought extra was a Painless relay kit.
I had a Meziere water pump installed into my 92 LT1 this year, and took at least two tenths of a second off my quarter mile time, which is a pretty good improvement. It cools down from 180 immediately after a run to under 130 in about 10 minutes. I also run a fan switch. I found that this setup drained the battery too fast, so I also put in an Optima Red Top to handle the current drain.

Is that part #50106 for the wiring harness? I have not installed my Meziere HD yet. It's still sitting in a box at home.
I should have said plum it up. I don't
see any inlet or outlets for the heater hose
hi again guys,
the earler csr e/water pumps didnt come with a heater pipe inlet.
but the tech guy @ csr said you can just drill and tap into the elbow side which i did to install on my 1991 L98 vette
no worries
