I noticed when I shift my 4+3 at higher rpm the clutch is VERY stiff, so stiff you can't push it. It acts as though the linkage is binding but that would do it at any rpm, and I really don't see how a master cylinder is affected by rpm? I see fluid leaking both inside and outside the master cylinder. The clutch is a brand new Centerforce Gold on a new flywheel, the slave cylinder is also somewhat new.
Also while I'm on this subject the master cylinder in Ecklers is $199 and at ZIP Proiducts it's $109. I wonder if the quality is $90 difference or would they both be comparable in quality?
If not, it sounds like the heat is getting to the slave or the clutch hose (between master and slave).
was there insulation around the clutch slave hose that was removed or was the hose replaced but not with the stainless wrapped one?
The leakage out of the master sounds like heat is getting to it too.
Is the exhaust stock or changed and closer/hotter near the slave/hose?
I am running theHooker super comp longtubes and now that you mention it heat may be a factor! I was relating the proiblem to rpm, but I know the slave cylinder and the little heat shield lay right against the headers. The hose is stock GM rubber.
When the car is driven gently or the engine is off the clutch operates as it should
So if it is heat related then what are my options now?
Thanks
