Thanks for the diagram Agent86, any chance you have the diagram showing the physical location, he can't seem to find the links?
I spotted something on another forum indicating they could be at the starter solenoid?
The diagrams are labled and give a description of where they can be found. I've already located 3 of them that I thought could be the culprit. None of them appears to have anything wrong. They're not bulged, cracked, burned, and the wires are intact. How can you tell?
You're right Jeremy, I see the locations after looking closer. Keep checking, I see about 10 links!
One way to check them is to test for power with a test light at a connection on each side of the link, but I think you will see it when you find the right one. You may need to turn the key to the on position to test with the test light.
Jeremny are you sure you hooked up the starter wiring correctly and didnt leave 1 off?
The post that gets the battery cable on the starter should have another smaller gauge wire on the post also.
In my manual it shows only 3 wires: 1 big one (battery), a medium one, and a tiny one and they all have their own size posts. Now I did notice that there was another post that wasnt used, but thats how it was when I took it off.
Still I should have power to the interior lights regardless.

the medium one is what i am speaking of, start there - that goes from the starter to the 12 volt distribution block behind the battery

I'm not sure what you mean by 12 volt distribution block. Is this the same as the Jump Start Junction Block in the diagram? But I did take some readings. I measure 12.8 volts at the battery, 12.8 bolts at the big cable on the starter, and 0 volts on both the small and medium connections. I had the ignition turned to on for this. Am I supposed to be getting voltage at the medium connection this way?

Put the medium cable on the big stud, along with the battery cable.
Awesome, glad that fixed it, give Twisted a big thanks. Have you fired that bad boy up yet, how does it sound?
Yes thank you very much Twisted and the rest of you guys who helped. No, havent started it cause I'm only going to do that once to take it to the shop to put pipes on. Its going to be extremely loud since the headers end right below me.
Unfortunately, I havent found a shop that will fab up some straight pipes for me, I started another thread about that...
You have more will power than I do, I would have to hear her rumble !
It could be tricky finding a shop to make pipes without a cat, they can be fined if they get caught. You might try telling them it is a track car, just a thought.
I went outside and started her up, OMG ITS SO ****ING LOUD! I moved it up the driveway for now. Yeah still looking for a shop.
Yes it is! I drove mine with it open at the end like that to get some pipe weld on. I really wanted to romp on it but was to worried about flames when shifting at WOT.
Have you tried posting to the regional section? I bet you can find a shop in the area which is vette friendly and is more then happy to fab up something for you. I'm glad you've got everything going again.
