Default Cam computer compatability for a 383

I have a 9.5:1 383 that I would like to retrofit with a converted LT1 intake. I have a computer from a 1987 TPI.

I'm considering a retro fit HR cam, Comp XR270 HR-10, .510" I/E, 218* I/224* E, on a 110* LS. I can pick the cam up for $100.

Assuming a chip could be burned to match the cam, what kind of idle could I expect? Would it idle in gear with an 1800-2200 stall converter without lugging? TIA Wes

If the tune is good, it should idle pretty smooth around 950.

That cam should idle just fine in a 383.

Thanks for the feedback.

Do you think there will be any tuning issues with a stock 1987 TPI computer given the cam's 110* LS? I currently have 1.6 rockers. Would they contribute to any tuning difficulties?
