Rear Defogger
Rear defogger goes on, light lights, starts to work, but then the circuit breaker kicks off, light goes out, stops working. After 5min or so, if I turn the switch it will go on again then same thing. Someone has told me that one wire at the cylinders is positive, the other negative, thru window wires completes circuit. That there may be a short leading to positive side. Any thoughts. '86 Coupe

The circuit breaker shouldn't open. There is a timer built into the circuit, but the breaker should remain closed at all times. If the breaker is opening, it will reclose when the excessive load is removed. To verify that it is working, check resistance across it's terminals immediately after the defroster turns off or substitute a fuse of the same rating. If the fuse blows, then there is an excessive load and you should check the soldered connectors at the glass and each grid line for an open by measuring resistance, end to end, of every line.
