i cant seem to find any dealers that will find any custom wheels
for my 88 will anybody know were to look i am trying not to go with the same c4 style wheels

Pick up any car mag and you will find TONS of different brands.

 

I-Forged, CCW, HRE, Fikse......they all make custom wheels to fit you C4

 

They have a lot of inexpensive wheels on ebay for your year. That offset is easier to find wheels for than the '84-'87.

 

I just about drove myself crazy deciding what type of wheels to get for my '89. I'm a cheap a... too so that didn't help. The problem I had was the offset made all the wheels look like big flat disks with no lip at all and I really didn't want to risk rubbing with a fiberglass body by tinkering with the offset too much. I've cracked fenders before this way. Custom rims or any rims once mounted are non-returnable too so it's easy to get screwed. I had pretty much decided on aftermarket ZR1 rims from Ebay due to cost comparision when I ran across a set of (don't laugh) Mustang Bullitt rims that were machined for Camaro and Firebird in Anthratic Silver. My '89 Vert is Burgundy with a black top and the dark silver with the polished rim looks fantastic. It sort of brought all the colors together on the car. The rims are only 17 x 9 but are offset in a fashion that has about an extra 1/4 of an inch on the outside so they actually look bigger than the stock 17 x 9.5's did. The best part is that I can run 275 45 17's front and 285 45 17's out back and they look really big and meaty on the narrower rims and are not that expensive. I chose the BFG KDWS because of the more classic tread pattern. I get complements all the time on the combo. Believe it or not the 4 rims brand new on Ebay were $449 with $90 shipping. Good luck!
